Some help would be appreciated…

Hi all,

We’re trying to make the leap to a new podcasting program (Powerpress), and we want to make sure you’re all still receiving our shows via the feed–if you can let us know via a comment or an E-mail, we would appreciate it.  Thanks!

We’re in Seattle for a couple of weeks, but we’ll be posting a show from here within the next couple of days.  Thanks as always for your support!

What’s wrong with a bit of shameless self-promotion?

Specifically, promotion of Greg’s new novel, just released by Five Star Press.  The Third Sign, a work of epic fantasy called “a very satisfying tale from an intriguing new voice” by Bram Stoker award winning author David Niall Wilson and “memorable…gripping…if this book is any indication, the author is in for a long and successful career” by reviewers from The Beezer Review to SFFWorld to Library Journal, has gotten positive pre-publication attention, and if you have any interest in fantasy (or in supporting a member of your favorite review team ;) ), please stop by Greg’s personal webpage for information on how to order the book.  And thanks in advance for putting up with a bit of self-promotion!

New episode coming soon!

Just a quick note to let you fine folks know that a new episode of UFR is on the way…we’ve been recovering from a fairly massive computer crash (more details to come :) ), but should have new reviews for your enjoyment within the next few days.  As always, thanks for your patience and support!

A question for the non-iTunes listeners…

A listener wrote in to tell us that he’s having trouble getting our latest show (Episode 62) via the feed–it seems to start downloading slowly and then stall.  He’s using iPodder, and while we haven’t been able to duplicate the problem on our end, we want to make sure everyone’s able to get the episode properly–has anyone else (who doesn’t use iTunes) encountered this problem?  If so, please drop us a line or leave a comment and let us know…many thanks!

UPDATE–We’ve installed a new plugin designed to make Podpress play nice with WordPress 2.6, even though we still haven’t been able to reproduce the problem ourselves (though we have heard from a couple of people who reported this issue, so we imagine something is going on).  All download, feed and play links seem to work fine for us on IE and Firefox.  For those of you who were having problems, please let us know if things now work for you…and thanks for bringing our attention to the problem!

Spam. Why we hate it.

Because our site is constantly bombarded with spam–nearly 35,000 messages at last count–we periodically have to go through and clean out the filter, which blessedly does a great job at keeping the comments from showing up on our site.  But Greg fouled up the process this past time, which caused all comments from Episodes 60 and 61 to vanish into the ether.  If you were one of the people whose comments disappeared, we apologize profusely, and ask that you direct your justifiable annoyance at the spam purveyors, for whom we hope there is a special place reserved in the land downstairs, if you get our drift.  :)  Also, we’ll have Episode 62 up shortly.

Sorry, all!
