Episode 54 of Upon Further Review!
We’re back with a look at things royal, Italian and aquatic (no, not all at the same time!) in Episode 54 of Upon Further Review! In this episode we check in with ourselves and a couple of listeners before getting into the main portion of the show: first, we ask what the word “inconceivable” really means as we review one of our favorite films, The Princess Bride; second, we blast off with an Italian plumber and a bunch of mushrooms (it’s not what you think, folks…) as we review Super Mario Galaxy; and finally, we dive deep with our take on the Whales-online podcast. As always, we appreciate your suggestions and feedback, and as always, we ask that you keep spreading the word about the show! (As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (“We Gotta Go”).)

You know why I smile as I write? Because I am not left-handed. I’m glad you gave it a high grade otherwise we would have had to fight to the pain. The show was enjoyable and didn’t have any of that “mushy” stuff.
(Ever wonder how the prince could bet his life on iocane? Ponder this:
MAN IN BLACK: What you do not smell is called iocane powder. It is odorless, tasteless, dissolves instantly in liquid, and is among the more deadlier poisons known to man.
Later…
[The Prince grabs the empty poison packet, hands it to Rugen, after first sniffing it himself.]
HUMPERDINCK: Iocane. I’d bet my life on it.)
I enjoyed the show and I wholeheartedly agree, websites with dashes in their name are awkward and oughta be banned.
Hey! Just wanted to let you know I listened to the show on my iPhone this week! :)
DI: And we certainly want to avoid the “mushy” stuff…at least until the end of the movie. :)
Divo: Cool! We’re all about advancing technology. Now if anyone would like to send us an iPhone for us to review on the show…you know, a demo unit…we’d be, er, just fine with that…

Awesome show, C&G! After reviewing Stoppard’s Rosencrantz & Guildenstern a few shows ago, so great to have you review Goldman’s work, too! Thanks so much!
My gaming hasn’t led me through Nintendo’s consoles, so I’m not too Mario-savvy, but I love the handheld Nintendo DS (possible review subject?) — cool thing about the DS is that Nintendo does an excellent job of getting the hottest titles – Call of Duty 4, Assassin’s Creed – onto their system. Your passion for Mario games is intoxicating, though, and I hope to have a chance to experience some of them sometime…
Whales Online sounds like something ripe for a too-long SNL parody. Great job filtering through more podcasts for your devoted listeners!
See you on your epsiode that aggravates motorist Sammy Hagar (55 :-)
