Episode 50 of Upon Further Review has arrived!

At long last (and we hope this lasts long!), we are proud to present Episode 50 of Upon Further Review! Since this is a special show for us, we thought it only appropriate to take a special approach to it–and since this is show fifty, what would be more appropriate than to review fifty things? In thirty minutes?

Crazy, you say? Impossible, you suggest? Then it’s time you learn of the power (and insanity) of The Reviewers! In this show we review six colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple), six red meats (beef, lamb, venison, pork, ostrich, buffalo), nine different kinds of foods (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Ethiopian, Mexican, Italian, Irish), six pop stars (Britney Spears, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan), eight items suggested by listener “Classic Chris” (video game arcades, reality shows, Celebreality, Kathy Griffin, Clue The Movie, Aeon Flux, www.manager-tool.com, Ronald Reagan), twelve games (Blue Moon, Bohnanza, Rack-O, Hoopla, Murder To Go, Cranium, Loot, Shakespeare the Bard Game, Lord of the Rings Trivia Game, Civilization the Board Game, Cribbage, Are You A Werewolf), two miscellaneous items (What Should I Do With My Life and Cirque du Soleil’s Wintuk), and one very, very important item, which gets the highest rating we’ve ever given–and you’ll just have to listen to see what it is!

We are incredibly grateful to all of the people in our ever-growing listener base for sticking with us and telling friends about the show, and look forward to many episodes to come. Special thanks to Drum Intellected for recording the intro to the show (and unsolicited!). As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”); the remaining music in this episode is provided by Top Johnny! (“Kick It We Are The Masters TJs ClubHouse REMIX,” “Surrender Let It Go TJs ClubHouse REMIX”).

  4. DrumIntellect:

    Congratulations on reaching your 50th!
(We purposely didn’t mention our podcast in the audio clip we sent so it wouldn’t be seen as an advertisement. We just wanted to congratulate you.)

I thought this was the funniest episode ever – even if I did have to disagree with your review of Ronald Reagan and the Lord of the Rings Trivia Game:) But how can you go wrong when you rate red (, white,) and blue so high?

We are looking forward to at least another 50 shows!

  5. Michael:

Congrats on 50 shows! I feel privileged that I found this site and was able to listen to them all. :) Definitely a great source of entertainment and interesting trivia and experiences. Keep it up!

  6. admin:

DI: Thanks again for the intro, and although we know it wasn’t your intention to advertise, we certainly don’t mind mentioning Opinionated! Not surprised you disagreed with our assessment evaluation of RR, but LOTR Trivia? Sacrilege!

Michael: Thanks for the kind words–we genuinely appreciate them, and will get to your review suggestion in our next show (after we take a few days to relax…prepping 50 was not easy! :) )

  7. DrumIntellect:

Thanks for the clarification about the transcripts. I do recall you saying that there’s little reason to hear the show if it’s all scripted out when you go to download. But the clarification makes sense to me.

I don’t really have a problem with LOTR, except, the only more boring than the series of books was the movies:). (But seriously, I was able to read further in the first book than I was able to watch in the first movie before I fell asleep and gave up.)

  8. classic chris:

Woo hoo!!! Congratulations on your 50th episode, Greg and Clea!!!

I really thought you were joking about 50 in 30 minutes, but I couldn’t have enjoyed more listening to you execute it flawlessly!

Thank you so much for considering a bunch of my suggestions and putting them in this momentous episode!!! I am so flattered and honored to be heard, and I really appreciate your reviews of my topics, even in such a quick hit fashion!

Only one little thing that got me, and that was the manager-tool review. The one I was talking about is actually manager-tools . com with an “s”. In this case, I think the “s” makes all the difference (terrible website name for them anyway. a hyphen and a plural… you’re just asking for trouble!). But I’d rather wait until episode 100 to hear the manager-tools review if that’s what it takes. So looking forward to 100 reviews in 30 minutes!!

Anyway, superb show. One of the most fun to listen to yet!! Congratulations, again, on breaking 50!! And thanks, again, for considering my suggestions (ps there are a few in the comments I just posted on 47-49… I’ll try to be good about emailing the suggestion parts to you just to make sure they get in the hopper).

    Don’t stop now!!

    See you on 51!!!!

    – chris

  9. Yael:

Chinese New Year clarification–their year changes in mid-February….so your baby will be a pig like mine.

It’s actually supposed to be a really good pig year–year of the golden boar. All the Chinese were trying to have babies this year..

  10. admin:

DI: You’re great and all, but you have to try LOTR again. “Fell asleep”?!?! Are you mad???? :)

Chris: Thanks for the kind words and for the submissions and continued comments–and sorry about the manager tool(s) mixup! We’ll have to review that in a future show.

Yael: Ah, got it. In that case, hooray for pigs! Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks, everyone, for your continued support and feedback!
