Shameless plug…

…for my band’s new CD. You may have heard me mention this on the show before, but I thought I would post it here as well–our first album DRIFT has recently been released, and so we’re trying to spread the word to the masses as best we can. It’s gotten positive press from a number of different quarters, for which we’re grateful…and has even been featured on Eclectic Mix, a podcast we reviewed on UFR several weeks ago. So if you’re interested in progressive rock (or good music of any kind, at least :) ), please head over to The Road’s official website where you can listen to and, if you’re so inclined, purchase a copy of the CD (only $11 through CD Baby!). Thanks!

Greg

P.S. Our official CD release party will be at The Mean Fiddler in New York City on April 21st (you can find details about that on our site as well)–our band will be performing (obviously) with some other great bands opening and closing, and we’ll even have comedians between sets–including Clea! If you’re in the area, we’d love to see you there (with lots of friends, of course… :) ).

Episode 36 of Upon Further Review!

We’re back to review the world, one item at a time, in Episode 36 of Upon Further Review! In this episode we address more comments about our American Idol episode (who knew so many people felt the same way we did?) before moving on to the show proper: first, we tackle a review request from an enterprising college student about one of the most powerful and influential forms of music in the past twenty years, rap; second, we look at the outrageously funny (and funnily outrageous) comedian/actor Eddie Izzard; and finally, we satiate our hunger for football in the offseason (sort of) with our review of the One For The Thumb podcast. As always, we appreciate your evergrowing involvement in the site and with our show, and encourage you to keep the good vibrations going–there’s so much more out there to review, right?–by telling your friends, neighbors, and close and distant relations about UFR! (“Commodore 64” song is provided by Euphrates (a really cool guy–you can also check him out here) via Julien and the In Over Your Head podcast; as usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (“We Gotta Go”).)

Episode 35 of Upon Further Review!

We’re back with opinions and entertainment–and just in time for St. Patrick’s Day–in Episode 35 of Upon Further Review! In this episode we thank our listeners both old and new for comments and E-mails before heading into the main portion of the show: first, we get things fizzed up with our review of fountain drinks and soda pop (thanks to AJ for the request); second, we hope to avoid skating on thin ice with our review of the sport of hockey; and finally, we try to keep a low profile with our review of the Ask A Ninja vidcast. As always, we appreciate your review requests, ideas, and support–and as always, we ask that you keep listening and spread the word! (As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (“We Gotta Go”).)

New episode of UFR coming soon…

Hi all–just wanted to let all our loyal listeners know that our new episode will be out shortly…we ended up running around more than we had expected last week, and post production has been delayed as a result.  But Episode 35 will be up soon, with some brand new review requests from listeners to cover.  Thanks for your patience, and we’ll see you soon.

Episode 34 of Upon Further Review!

We’re back with more opinions than Simon Cowell (hopefully delivered a lot more nicely!) in Episode 34 of Upon Further Review!  In this episode we launch right into the show with our usual three course fare: first, we look at the ratings phenomenon called American Idol and try to figure out what they’re doing right (and wrong); second, we, er, “dial up” the technology heat with our review of the T-Mobile MDA cell phone (and discuss how good or bad cell phones are in general while we’re at it); and finally, we read the news today, oh boy (apologies to The Beatles!) with our review of the Mostly News podcast.  We conclude by reminding everyone that this is Eating Disorders Awareness Week and asking listeners near and far to love their bodies for what they are, not for what movies or magazines would like them to be.  As always, we’re grateful for your continued support and contributions…and ask that you continue to spread the word about the show!  (As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (“We Gotta Go”).)
