Episode 69 of Upon Further Review!

We’re back with a show about ballparks and Battlestar Galactica (sort of) in Episode 69 of Upon Further Review!  In this show we talk weather and wandering musicians before getting into the meat of the episode:  in the first half we look at the Mets’ new home, Citi Field, before presenting the third and final part of our interview with Minister Faust, started in Episode 67.  As always, we appreciate your continued dedication to the show…and as always, we ask that you share that dedication with others by spreading the word!  (As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (”You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (”We Gotta Go”).)

Reviewed in this show:

Citi Field

    Thanks for the mention.

I’m glad you are reviewing real baseball teams;)

I think the Mets did need a new a stadium and I support them getting one, but I agree that public funding should not have been used. I find it astonishing that our money goes to pay to build stadiums and then we let private entities keep the profits from those stadiums. I think the Mets and Yankees should take a percentage of the their profits from the new stadiums and return the money to people who paid taxes.

I cannot stand that our new stadium is “Citi” Field. I wouldn’t want it to be called Mets Stadium because “ugh”, but what was wrong Shea Stadium Second Stand?

I also don’t like the drastic decrease in seating available, but I understand that the profit motive necessitated it. I’m glad all their games are televised, because thanks to SNY, WPIX (or is it CW), and ESPN I never have to go to the stadium:).

Shea was always cold until mid-June. Even sunny afternoon games could chill a bloke if the seat was in the upper decks (the best seats in my opinion). I guess they decided to keep that tradition:)

(Congrats on smashing the Yankees this week:), I hope the Mets can keep that up this weekend.)

Hey D.I.–welcome back! We’ll try not to be offended about what you classify as a “real” baseball team… :) As for smashing the Yankees, thanks for the congrats–Greg wishes Castillo could have held on to the popup to make this a truly wonderful week, but oh, well…at least we had some fun over the last few days, baseball-wise!
